The Australian Boxherd is a designer dog cross between the Australian Shepherd and Boxer. These breeds are friendly, energetic, lively, fun-loving and are great humane companions.
The coat of this breed is common in blue merle, red merle, red or black, can be with or without white markings.
Their coat is weather-resistant, straight to slightly wavy, dense, soft to touch and medium in length.
The Australian Boxherd is loyal, courageous and protective with positive personality. They are extremely high in energy and loves when given lots of plays. Given that these breeds are given proper training and socialized well, they can be friendly even with children and other dogs raised with them. They are eager to please their owner which makes them a great family companion dog.
This breed requires moderate grooming, they will need occasional brushing with a firm bristle brush. Bathing should be done only when necessary using a mild soap or hypoallergenic to prevent possible skin irritations and allergies.
The Australian Boxherd is an intelligent breed and is very easy to train. Early socialization and obedience training is recommended for this breed. Establishing their master as a pack leader is also needed to prevent them from taking control. They require a firm, fair, gentle and consistent training.
They are highly active indoors and can be suited for apartment dwelling if provided enough exercise needed. A large securely fenced yard would be a bonus for them. They would love to be taken out for outdoor trips and plays.
