The Austrian Brandlbracke is primarily a hunting dog, also known as Australian Smoothhaired Hound, Austrian Hound or the Osterreichischer Glat thaariger Bracke. It is a dog par excellence when it comes to silent hunting. They are also known for their flowing gaits and swift agile movement. They share some similarities with German breeds, nevertheless, they are Austrian though and through.
This breed is a solemn-looking, medium-sized dog. They make a good runner, an excellent sense of smell and are used to find all types of hunting. They are known as highly prized dog in Austria for its stealthy hunting skill.
