GENERAL
The Belgian Shorthaired Pointer is a medium to large dog breed that has height and weight between 23-28 inches and 52-61 lbs respectively. The head is large with eyes in chestnut, dark yellow or amber coloured. The long ears are set high and can be slightly pleated. The muzzle is medium in size having black nose. Medium length neck is slightly arched. Chest is broad with long and straight broad back. The powerful legs are long with short and round feet. Tail is usually docked. This breed was developed in Belgium in the last century but is believed to be now extinct or very near to extinction. This is so because no new dogs have been registered under this breed name. The breed is NOT recognized by AKC, however it is recognized by FCI and UKC.

COLOR
Common colours for the Belgian Short haired Pointer are white with large brown patches.

COAT
The coat is short, dense and fine. It is easy to groom coat.

PERSONALITY
The now believed to be extinct or near to extinct breed of the Belgian Shorthaired Pointer is lively, high spirited yet very loveable. Not much is known about this breed.

CARE
The short, dense coat is very low maintenance. Weekly brushing should be enough for this breed.

TRAINING
They are intelligent breeds and can be easy to train.

ACTIVITY
These dogs are normally active indoors and can dwell in apartment dwelling life or homes as long as they are provided with enough exercise they needed. Moderate exercise routines like daily walks or runs are recommended. They will require a large space to roam around.
