The Bordernese is a hybrid and is a mix between a Border Collie and a Bernese Mountain dog purebreds. These dogs are medium to large in size. They have medium length muzzle, dark eyes and flopped ears.
They come in black colouring with white ruffs and occasionally, brown spots on the face.
The coat is long and needs regular caring.
These dogs are perfect all round family dogs. They are gentle and loving, highly intelligent, very alert and protective and loyal. They are equally good with adults and children in the family. They like to be with the family most of the time and are great family dogs.
They shed heavily twice a year, in fall and spring and should be brushed daily. Rest of the year, they can get away with two times brushing per week.
They are highly intelligent dogs and they learn new tricks very quickly and easily. They are easy to train but they would require new things and tricks to keep them interested.
They have high levels of energy and require fair amount of exercise and playing opportunities. Regular walk is necessary for them.
