The Bracco Italiano is a Hunt, Point, Retrieve (HPR) breed. It is uncommon in its native country Italy and almost unknown in the rest of the world. This dog is athletic and powerful. Longer ears and pendulous upper lips create an impression of seriousness. The body is almost square. Tail can be docked. The coat is short, dense and glossy with hard hair. The most common colours are Bianco-Arancio – White-Orange and Roano-Marrone – Roano-Brown, chestnut, or amber coloured patches on the face, ears, base of tail, and body.
The dog has height and weight between 22-26 inches and 55-65 lbs.
It is recognized by AKC, UKC, KC, FCI and other kennel clubs.
