The Catahoula Bulldog is a cross between the Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog and American Bulldog. These breeds have the muscular build of an American Bulldog. They are often utilized as hunting, working and guard dogs. They make make an excellent companion.
They come in black, white, black and white, brown, brown and white and sometimes even black and brown.
They have a very short and smooth coat.
The Catahoula Bulldog is an intelligent breed. They are good with children, protective when its comes to family, patient and laid back. They are well-tempered, calm and have a good personality. They became happiest when they have something to do and felt that they are being needed as help. They are a wonderful family dog and are great at watch dogging with their size.
They shed very little and would only require minimal brushing and grooming maintenance. Bathing should be done when necessary.
These breeds are intelligent and very easy to train. Early socialization and obedience training is recommended.
The Catahoula Bulldog is very playful, energetic and normally active indoors. They also love outdoor activities, having family trips, going leashed on dog parks. Exercises should be done 2-3 hours daily. These medium dogs would require a larger space to roam around.
