The Chigi is a mix between a purebred Chihuahua and a purebred Pembroke Welsh Corgi. They are called hybrid dogs due to their origination from two different pure breeds. The Chigi is small in size with an average height and weight of 7 to 12 inches and 10 to 20 pounds respectively. They are very human loving and social dogs as well as alert. They make good watch dogs and good family pets.
They are found in black, black and tan, brown, blue, red, silver and white or any mix of these colours.
They can have a short or medium or long coat.
The Chigi dogs are very friendly, eager to please and playful. They are very family oriented and tend to follow their owners wherever they go. They may have a tendency to attach themselves to one particular person in the family. They are extremely gentle and affectionate to children but early age socialization and training is must. They generally get along well with other dogs and cats in the family. While social by nature, they are alert dogs and will only bark to signal arrival of a stranger. They are very good family dogs to have.
Their coat needs average grooming.
These dogs are very trainable and will respond to exciting training sessions. They are very intelligent dogs and will not create many problems in training.
These dogs are active and will need lots of play. Indoor play will take care of their exercise needs but daily walk will keep these dogs happy and fit.
