BREED DETAILS

GENERAL
The Chilier dog is a hybrid dog that is produced by cross breeding of a Chihuahua and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel purebreds. They are small size dogs. They are alert, loyal, courageous, intelligent and social dogs. These little hybrids are very good family pets. They have the body of the Cavalier and features like a Chihuahua. They weigh around 5-15 pounds.

COLOR
They are found in colours of their parent breeds. Most common colouring seen in these hybrids are white, dark brown, black and tan, slate, silver and gray.

COAT
They usually have long silky coat.

PERSONALITY
The Chilier dogs are friendly dogs with their family although they may be wary of strangers and guests. They are good with children and other pets in the house. The Chi's dominant traits may pursue them to a 'Bossy' mind set but that can be dealt with firm and consistent training. They are eager to please their owners and mostly want to be with them. These little dogs are very energetic and love to play and go out.

CARE
Their coat requires moderate level of grooming and regular brushing.

TRAINING
They are intelligent enough to learn tricks and respond to obedience training. They may show a stubborn and willful behavior sometimes but firm training and positive reinforcement in the shape of food reward and love should take care of this behavior.

ACTIVITY
The Chiliers are very active dogs and would not tire out easily. They love to run and play. They would require ample playing opportunities and regular walks to be happy and cheerful.
