BREED DETAILS

GENERAL
The Corkie is a mix between a purebred Cocker Spaniel and a purebred Yorkshire Terrier. They are called hybrid dogs due to their origination from two different pure breeds. They are small size dogs with an average height and weight of 9 to 14 inches and 8 to 20 pounds respectively. They are small but sturdy dogs with well built athletic body and very intelligent and expressive eyes. These dogs are loving, energetic and fun to have around.

COLOR
The Corkie dogs are found in brown, tan, brown and white, black and tan, yellow or parti colours.

COAT
They have medium to slightly longer straight and smooth silky coat.

PERSONALITY
The Corkie dogs are very fun loving and energetic and obedient. They are good natured and do well with all family members. They are specially gentle and affectionate to children and can get along well with other dogs and pets. These dogs are alert and will make good watch dogs. They are eager to please and very tractable dogs that can adjust to city life as well as farm life. They are excellent dogs to have as family and watch dogs.

CARE
Their coat is long and silky and needs to be brushed two to three times a week. Clipping the coat will reduce maintenance time.

TRAINING
They are intelligent and obedient dogs and very trainable. They will respond well to consistent and positive training.

ACTIVITY
These dogs are active indoor and play will take care of their exercise needs but they will need to walk daily to satisfy their primal need to walk.
