BREED DETAILS

GENERAL
The Golden Pei is a mix between a Chinese Shar Pei and a Golden Retriever purebreds. They are called hybrid dogs. These hybrids are medium size dogs, standing up to 24 inches and weighing around 75 pounds. These dogs are alert, intelligent and loyal. They are even-temperament dogs that get along well with all ages. These dogs are found in different colours. They are good watchdogs and very good family pets.

COLOR
They are found in black, brown, red and yellow colours or a mix of these colours.

COAT
They may have dense and water-Repellent coat of a Retriever or a fine and short coat of Chinese Shar Pei.

PERSONALITY
The Golden Pei dogs are very loyal, affectionate and loving. They are gentle and even-tempered dogs that are very good with children. They are not hostile towards strangers but wary of them. These dogs are good with other pets and dogs in the family. These dogs are generally very obedient to their masters but do need to be handled in an authoritative manner. They need to be reminded that they are part of the pack and NOT the pack leaders themselves. These dogs are good watch dogs and excellent family pets.

CARE
Their coat needs moderate grooming and regular brushing.

TRAINING
They are not difficult to train but would need firm and consistent trainer who establishes himself as true packleaders.

ACTIVITY
They are active dogs and would need fair amount of exercise and play opportunities.
