GENERAL
The King Charles Yorkie is a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Yorkshire Terrier purebred. They are called hybrid dogs due to their origination from two different pure breeds. The King Charles Yorkie is small in size with a maximum height of 13 inches and weighing 18 pounds at most. They are cheerful, loyal and social dogs that are good with all the family. As with any dog, proper training will make these cute and loveable hybrids an excellent family pets and companion dogs.

COLOR
The King Charles Yorkie are found in black and tan, blue and red or any mix of these colours.

COAT
They have long, silky and fine coat that needs moderate grooming.

PERSONALITY
The King Charles Yorkie dogs are very loving and affectionate. They are loyal and intelligent dogs that are good with all family members. They are gentle and patient with children and make good playmates for them. They can get along well with other dogs and pets in the family. These dogs are very active and need lots of physical activity. A daily walk is necessary for these dogs. These dogs are protective of their family and brave as well. They love to get attention and eager to please their family. They are easy to train although some dogs may show stubborn behavior with should be dealt with patience and persistent training. The King Charles Yorkie dogs make very good watch dogs as they will signal the arrival of a stranger. Their small size and cuteness may lead the family to treat these dogs as if they are human. This behavior will induce Small Dog Syndrome into their behavior and the dogs will believe they are pack leaders. The owner should always make clear that he is the pack leader. They are excellent family pets and companion dogs.

CARE
Their coat is average maintenance.

TRAINING
They are easy to train as they are very intelligent dogs. Some King Charles Yorkies may show stubbornness that can be dealt with gentle yet firm and consistent training sessions.

ACTIVITY
These dogs are very active. Indoor play might take care of their exercise needs but they will still need daily walks to be happy and content and to satisfy their primal instinct to walk.
