The Lha-Basset is a mix between a purebred Lhasa Apso and a purebred Basset Hound. They are called hybrids due to their origination from two different pure breeds. These hybrids are small in size with a maximum height of 15 inches and can weigh anywhere between 18 to 50 pounds. They are loyal and social dogs with a sense of scent which comes from Basset side. These dogs are loyal and social and create a strong bond with their owner and family. They are brave and selfless dogs and are eager to please their owner. They are very good family pets to have.
The Lha-Basset is found in different colors. Common colors for these dogs are black and tan, blue, gray, red and white or any mix of these colors.
Their coat is either dense, long and silky like a Lhasa Apso or it can be dense, short, rough and harsh.
The Lha-Basset dogs are affectionate and loyal dogs. They are very good with all family including children and show gentle and patient nature towards them. They are very social dogs and love to be in human company as much as possible. They build a strong bond with their owner. These loyal and selfless dogs have a sense of scent and can be used as search and tracking dog. They are moderately active dogs and although they may sleep more than many other dog breeds, they still need a walk and playing opportunities to be happy and content. These dogs are easy to train as they strive to please their owners. They are alert and can make good watch dogs. These dogs are good family pets.
