BREED DETAILS

GENERAL
The Muscle Mastiff is a cross between a purebred Mastiff and a purebred Dogue de Bordeaux (French Bulldog). They are called hybrids due to their origination from two different pure breeds. These dogs are large in size with an average height of 28 to 37 inches and weight in between 100 to 200 pounds or more. Despite their large size and imposing personality, these dogs are calm and gentle natured. They are suitable for families with children and will not create a problem with other dogs and pets in the family if the later are well behaved too! These dogs are loyal and devoted to their family. They are found in different colours and make good watch/guard dogs.

COLOR
Common colours for these dogs are black, black and tan, brown, red and silver or any mix of these colours.

COAT
Their coat is short, fine and soft to touch. It requires moderate grooming and regular brushing.

PERSONALITY
The Muscle Mastiff dogs are best described as 'giant teddy bears' due to their gentle and even temperament. These dogs are loving, affectionate, gentle, extremely loyal and devoted to their family and naturally protective. They are very good and kind to children and display a patient nature to them. They also get along well with other dogs and cats in the family. Despite their imposing size, the Muscle Mastiffs are very calm and gentle dogs. They are alert to their surroundings and their mere presence is enough to ward off any human threat away. They are vigilant but not aggressive dogs. They can be stubborn sometimes and may try to dominate their gentle or inexperienced owner or for that matter, other dogs and pets in the family. This can be controlled through early age socialization and training. They make very good family pets for all the members as well as very efficient watch/guard dog.

CARE
Their coat needs moderate level of grooming. These dogs should not be over exercised. Their diet should be correct.

TRAINING
They are intelligent dogs that are easy to train with gentle and love based training routines. They will not respond to harsh training methods.

ACTIVITY
Exercise is necessary for these dogs although they will not need any extra exercise than most other dogs.
