The Olde Pit Bulldogge is a cross between an American Pitbull Terrier and an Olde Bulldog. They are called hybrid dogs due to their origination from two different pure breeds. The Olde Pit Bulldogges are medium size dogs with an average height of 17 to 22 inches and weight of 40 to 80 pounds. These dogs are very friendly, courageous and alert. These dogs can be good with other dogs and pets in the family after proper socialization.
They are found in a variety of colors as one parent breed, the APBT, can show any color except merle. This makes Olde Pit Bulldogges to appear in many different colors. Some common colors may include grey, black, red or brindle.
Their coat is glossy, smooth, short and slightly stiff.
The Olde Pit Bulldogges are extremely friendly and courageous. They are alert and very loving. These dogs have chasing instincts of their parents and will need early training and socialization to prevent this behavior. They are alert dogs who will make good watch dogs. They are generally good with children but need early training and socialization to be good natured and gentle. The Olde Pit Bulldogges are good family pets to have but may need puppyhood training to be suitable for all the family.
Their coat requires average grooming. These dogs will need brushing with bristle brush to keep their coat clean and free of matt.
They are intelligent dogs that love to please their owners. They will not be difficult to train with gentle training methods.
These dogs are high energy and working dogs. They will need to be involved in physical activities on regular basis. This calls for daily walking as well as playing and running time. These dogs can be used to perform some work to relieve their excess energy.
