The Pocket Pitbull breed is a mixed breed. Sometimes called hybrid or designer breeds, the Pocket Pitbull is a cross from the American Pit Bull Terrier and the Patterdale Terrier breeds. They are suitable as watchdogs for their courageous, loyal and protective nature. They enjoy long walks or jog and any activity that will drain their energy. With a calm, assertive, strong pack leader, they will be happy, content and balanced.
This breed's color can vary but it will greatly depend on what their predecessor's colors are.
The Pocket Pitbull's coat can either be smooth or broken ' depending on which line of breed they got more genes of. Their coat is made up of short, shiny, thick hair.
These dogs are brave, loyal and protective of their humans. This makes them very suitable as watchdogs. Ensure that they are given enough challenge through activities and exercise and they will be happy and stable dogs.
This breed is easy to groom with their smooth, short-haired coats. They don't have much known health problems except that their Pit Bull line is prone to hip dysplasia, allergies, hereditary cataracts and congenital disease. It would be best to watch out for these issues to treat them early in the future.
These dogs need a firm, consistent and strong human to lead them to avoid behavioral problems from developing. Early socialization will also be benefiting to ensure that they can handle being with other non-canine pets or children.
The Pocket Pitbulls needs their everyday long walks. Naturally bred to be working dogs, they need to burn off their excess energy. Keep them exercised and content, they will never be bored or destructive.
