BREED DETAILS

GENERAL
The Potsdam Greyhound is a small to medium sight-hound dog originating in Italy. With an appearance of a small size sight-hound, the dog stands between 15-17 inches tall and weighs about 10-14 lbs. This is a small sized sight-hound breed that relies mainly on its sight, not smell when hunting. Dogs of this breed are used for course racing and seldom as family pets. The coat of the Potsdam Greyhound is short and smooth. The acceptable coat color is bright reddish or orange, with white markings on the tip of the tail. Fawn, blue, black, bronze or silver-grey are also colors of this breed. Dogs of this breed also have a white snippet that runs through the center of their muzzle. This rare dog breed is NOT recognized by AKC or any other major kennel club.
