Silkins, also known as Silky Chin, are cross breeds between Japanese Chin and Silky Terrier. These small dogs are very friendly and sweet and makes a great lap dog. They have a very pleasing personality that are loved by humans.
COLOR
Silkins come in brown, cream, red-brown, tan or combinations of these colors.
COAT
The Silkin has a thin, silky coat. Like their Japanese Chin parent, their fur maybe medium to long and silky with the tail hair tossed and fringed over their body. Their fur on the face, ears and legs are shorter than their hairs on their necks.
PERSONNALITY
Silkins have a wonderful personality any human loves. They are very sweet, affectionate, fun-loving and lively. These dogs are people friendly, and extremely friendly with other dogs. They can get along even with stray dogs and children.
CARE
Silkins sheds moderately. They need to be brushed daily and groomed every two weeks for their coats to remain healthy as possible. Their coat can be grown long if preferred, so trimming is recommended.
TRAINING
Silkins are averagely smart dogs and are easily trainable. They can learn fast and quick. With consistency, positivity, firmness and patience they can be able to grasp basic obedience training and learn few tricks.
ACTIVITY
Silkins are highly playful and energetic dogs. However, these dogs needs low exercise to none. They usually burn their energy by playing a lot, like running in a large, safe yard or having trips outdoors and walks on leash.
