BREED DETAILS

GENERAL
Silky Cocker, also known as Maltese Spaniel, is a cross between Maltese and Cocker Spaniel. This breed is loving, adorable and fun-loving. They make a great companion and wonderful family dog.

COLOR
Silky Cocker comes in mostly in white and slightly golden in colors with touches of apricot, cream, tan and red-brown. Some may also come in white with black patches all over their body, ears and tail.

COAT
The coat of a Silky Cocker is soft, silky, fury and straight to slightly wavy.

PERSONALITY
Silky Cockers are are lovely, adorable, calm dogs. They have a fun, wonderful personality that everybody loves. They love to always be with their owners and follows them all around. They are very friendly with other dogs and even with children. They make a great humane companion especially to those who are single.

CARE
Silky Cockers moderately shed. Daily brushing and regular grooming of coat would be better to maintain their good-looking coat. Bathing and trimming should also be done once in a month. Having these dogs a an inches cut of their fur would give them a slightly wavy, ruggedly-looking cute look.

TRAINING
Silky Cockers are smart dogs and so easy to train. However, their cuteness and being adorable may get in their way and may be a problem when it comes to training them. It is then recommended to start their obedience training and socialization at an early age, or even those moment they were brought home. Their training doesn't need to be strict and harsh, rather a training with firmness, fairness, consistency, patience and repetition is advised.

ACTIVITY
Silky Cockers are playful, energetic dogs. They require average exercises, like daily walks or going leash on parks but not very extensive though. Most of their energies are being burned-off from their daily routines.
