BREED DETAILS

GENERAL
Silkyhuahuas, also known as Silky Chi, are cross breed between Chihuahua and Silk Terrier. These dogs are highly affectionate, fun-loving and friendly. They are perfect for apartment-sized or small homes with their size. They are great with people and other pets, especially those that live with them.

COLOR
Silkyhuahua comes in variations of different colors. They may be in either of the combinations of white, cream, tan, brown, red-brown and black.

COAT
Silkyhuahua has a silky, thick, double-layered coat that can be grown long if preferred.

PERSONALITY
Silkyhuahuas are lovely, charming, adorable, lively and fun to be with. With their small size, they can be a barker and aggressive at times especially when they sense some mysterious sounds around, strangers and stray dogs. They need special attention when there are other people around the house but calms down when they feel safe.

CARE
These Silkyhuahuas needs weekly grooming and brushing to remove dead fur. Bathing should be done using a mild soap when necessary. The coat of these breeds can be grown long if preferred so trimming is needed to keep them good looking.

TRAINING
The Silkyhuahuas are not so smart dogs and may be hard to train. Their being adorable and cute may get in their way during the training and may sometimes be stubborn and hard-headed. It is advised to start their training at an early age or the moment they have been brought home. All they need is a firm, fair, consistent and repetitive training.

ACTIVITY
Silkyhuahuas does not need much exercise unlike other dogs but they are energetic in some ways. Nevertheless, they burn off their energy mostly by playing. An apartment would be enough for them to run all over with their small size, but they appreciate if they would be given outdoor activities.
