BREED DETAILS

GENERAL
The English Speagle dog is a cross between an English Toy Spaniel and a Beagle purebreds. They are called hybrid dogs because they originate from two different pure breeds. These hybrids display characteristics of both parent breeds. They are small dogs with a height of not more than 16 inches and weight between 14 to 30 pounds. These little dogs have large head big, round eyes. They have large ears and their feet is generally shorter in proportion to their body. They are alert, cheerful, loyal and intelligent dogs and make good family pets.

COLOR
They are found in black, black and tan, red and white or a mix of these colours.

COAT
They can have long, straight or wavy soft coat of an English Toy Spaniel or a medium length, hard and smooth coat of a Beagle.

PERSONNALITY
The English Speagle dogs are intelligent, even-tempered, gentle, loving and affectionate dogs. They are happy and cheerful dogs that are very family oriented. They love and enjoy human company and make good companion dogs. They are obedient and loyal dogs and are good with children and other pets in the family. These hybrids are responsive to food reward training and positive reinforcements. They are very social and thus not good guard dog. They have a tendency to bark when they see something unusual or see an approaching stranger. This makes them good watchdogs. They are good family pets overall.

CARE
Their coat needs regular brushing and occasional trimming and clipping.

TRAINING
They are intelligent and should not be difficult to train but single-minded approach of the Beagle may make them hard to train. They will respond to positive and food rewarding training sessions.

ACTIVITY
These dogs would need average physical activity.
