BREED DETAILS

GENERAL
The Kashon is a mix between a purebred Bichon Frise and a purebred Cairn Terrier. They are called hybrid dogs due to their origination from two different pure breeds. The Kashon dogs are small in size with a maximum height of 15 inches and weight of 10 to 18 pounds. These dogs are cheerful, intelligent, loyal and social. These sturdy dogs can fit into apartment life as well as farm life. They are friendly and loyal dogs that love to be with their family. The Kashon dogs need proper training so as not to get into trouble with other dogs as they have a tendency to be 'Bossy' even to dogs larger than itself.

COLOR
The Kashon dogs are found in different colours like black and tan, gray, red and white where as the former colour is an attribute of Bichon Frise.

COAT
The Kashon dogs can have a broken coat that is soft and silky on half body and then turns into Cairn's coarse and rough coat through to the rest of the body.

PERSONNALITY
The Kashon dogs are friendly, loyal and cheerful dogs with all the characteristics of the parent breeds. They are happy and very family oriented dogs that love to spend their time with the family. They are protective of their family and territory. These hybrids are social and good with anyone they meet. They are very good and playful with children but do not like to be rough-handled. They can get along with other dogs and pets in the family if proper training is provided from puppyhood. They are active dogs and would need long walks and playing time. They should only be unleashed in a fenced yard because they have a tendency to run after small animals like rodents, squirrels. These dogs are alert and attentive to their surroundings and will only bark to signal arrival of a stranger or to unusual noises. They are very good family pets with proper training.

CARE
They should never be taken for a walk without a leash as they have strong hunting drive and will chase any small animal.

TRAINING
These hybrids are easy to train as they are intelligent and eager to please. They may show willful attitude of a Cairn Terrier but can be dealt with persistent and patient training.

ACTIVITY
They are high energy dogs that would need lots of physical stimulation. A long walk with proper play opportunities is necessary for these dogs to be happy and content.
