The Lhasanese is a cross between a purebred Lhasa Apso and a purebred Pekingese. They are called hybrid dogs due to their origination from two different pure breeds.
These dogs are small in size with a height of 11 inches and weight anywhere from 7 to 18 pounds. They are brave, loyal, affectionate and social dogs. These dogs can get along with all ages. They do need early socialization with other dogs from puppy-hood or they have a tendency to try and dominate dogs that are much larger than themselves.
The Lhasanese dogs are wary of strangers and will sound alarm if notice a approaching stranger. They can make good watch dogs as well as great family dogs.
These dogs are found in black, black and tan and white or a mix of these colours.
They have a long and silky coat that can be clipped for working dogs or left unclipped for show dogs. It needs to be brushed regularly to avoid need for frequent grooming.
The Lhasanese dogs are gentle and sweet dogs that are affectionate and loving to their family. They are family oriented dogs and love to spend their time with them. These dogs are very good with children and will enjoy playing with them. They can get along well with other dogs and pets in the house.
These dogs are social but may be wary of strangers, thus making good watch dogs. They mix up well with unfamiliar guests once properly introduced.
