The Meagle is a cross between a purebred Beagle and a purebred Miniature Pinscher. These dogs are called hybrid dogs due to their origination from two different pure breeds.
The Meagles are small size dogs with an average height of 12-16 inches and weight around 10-20 pounds. This breed is an interesting mix of two different pure breeds. While Beagles are docile, friendly and even-tempered, the Min-Pins are assertive, out-going and independent dogs. This mix gives birth to a hybrid that can have best of both breeds or take after one breed more. For this reason, it is impossible to predict exact characteristics of these dogs.
Generally, these dogs are loving, friendly and obedient. They are also very agile dogs that are alert and wary of strangers. These dogs are found in different colours and can have coat that is short to medium and rough to touch.
These dogs are found in a mix of black and red or white and red colors. They may also be found in black, brown, red and white or any mix of these colors.
Their coat can be short or medium in length with smooth fur.
The Meagles are friendly, loving, active and very lively dogs. They are good with all ages and family oriented. These dogs are assertive yet docile and playful. They are good with children and other dogs and pets in the family. These dogs are kind and gentle to their family but suspicious of strangers. They make good watch dogs.
The Meagles have a strong sense of smell, inherited from Beagle. This along with Min-Pin characteristic of escaping to outdoor, makes them to follow the scent and become easily distracted. They need a fenced yard to play and run. They are high energy dogs and would need to be taken for long daily walks.
The Meagles are very good family pets that need a firm and confident owner or they will develop undesirable behaviors.
They may not be suitable for cold weather and should be kept indoor.
Their eager to please nature makes them easy to train but they may behave in a stubborn way from time to time. This should be dealt with firm and consistent training and patience.
These high energy dogs require lots of physical exercises to keep them happy. Long daily walks and playing and running opportunities will keep these dogs happy.
