Purebred Dog Breeds

There are two major classifications of dog breeds: Purebred and Hybrid. Purebred dog breeds are dog breeds who's genealogical roots have no human interference, which means that the breed is specifically adapted to the environment in which it can be traced back to. Purebred dog breeds are often also called "akc approved breeds", an organisation which have researched the lineage and ran several genetic tests. Hybrid dog breeds on the other hand, are dog breeds who have two different purebred dog breeds as their parents. There are about 1000 different type of hybrid dog breeds and about 150 purebred dog breeds. Due to the slightly different DNA of dog 2 purebred dog breeds, hybrid dog breeds are sometimes inclined to genetic flaws which result in bent ears, hip dysplasia, etc. This is why purebred dog breeds are often must more expensive than a hybrid dog breed.
