I had an American Foxhound for 8 years. Unfortunately he got hemolytic anemia and didnt last long after that. It is a very rare disease so I don't want to discourage anyone from getting one because the time Charlie and I were able to spend together was totally worth it. He had the world's greatest personality. He would bark at everything trying to protect us the dangers that lurked outside of our backyard but whenever he was around people he was extremely gentle and kindhearted. He was great on walks and very easy to train on the leash. If anyone is considering getting an American Foxhound I would totally recommend it. I have been around and had alot of dogs in my life and by far Charlie was the best. Everyone needs an American Foxhound.
