The Afghan Retriever is not a pure breed rather it is a cross breed between Afghan hound and Golden Retriever purebreds. They have long face and small eyes. Hair is more coarse.
The afghan Retriever dogs come in yellow- brown and dark brown.
Their coat is wavy, thick and short.
They are generally obedient dogs.
These breeds sheds averagely. Regular brushing should done to remove excess hair and refrain matting. Bathing should be done when necessary.
These breeds are smart and easy to train. Trainer should be gentle with a firm hand, fair, consistent and lots of patience.
The Afghan Retrievers need extreme exercises to burn off their energies. They are playful, lively and active indoors. They will require plenty of routine exercises, daily walks and runs, a large room to roam around and some outdoor activities.
