The Lhaffon dog is a mix between a Lhasa Apso and a Brussels Griffon purebreds. They are called hybrid dogs due to their origination from two different pure breeds. They are small in size with a maximum height of 18 inches and have weight in between 10 to 18 pounds. They are self-assured, confident and devoted dogs that are naturally wary of strangers. They are family oriented and affectionate dogs that make good companions. These dogs are loyal, social and alert as well as intelligent. They have a terrier-like disposition. They are sweet and kind to their family and make good family dogs.
The Lhaffons are found in different parent colours like black, blue, brown, red and white or any mix of these colours.
Their coat is dense and it can be short to medium in length with rough and straight fur like a Griffon's or silky and smooth like a Lhasa Apso.
The Lhaffons are docile, smart, alert and cheerful dogs. They are very sweet and gentle and like to be with their family most of the time. These dogs have a tendency to attach themselves with one member of the family more than others. They are very human loving dogs and like their company thus making good companion dogs. They are good with children but children should be taught not to rough-handle these little dogs as they can not handle rough handling. They can get along well with other dogs and pets in the house but proper socialization from early age is necessary. These dogs are naturally wary of strangers and will alarm the signal if they see a stranger coming. This makes them good watch/guard dog. They do not like to be left alone for longer time periods and may become destructive. They are sweet little dogs that make good family pets.
Care should be taken when they are with small children as they have little patience if handled in a rough manner.
They are easy to train dogs. They will respond to motivational training with a gentle and patient trainer. They are able to learn and perform a few simple tricks.
The Lhaffons require moderate level of physical activities. A daily walk will take care of their exercise needs as well as satisfy their primal instinct to walk.
