Pugairn

The Pugairn is a small, sprightly cross between the Cairn Terrier and the Pug. Adorable-looking and energetic, the Pugairn possesses characteristics of its parent breeds that make it an good indoor family dog and an active, sociable, outdoor playmate.

The Cairn Terrier is the oldest of all Scottish Terriers, and was originally bred to hunt den-living farm pests such as foxes. The word "cairn" refers to man-made stone piles common in the Scottish Highlands. These were often inhabited by animals such as badgers and foxes, which was a bane to nearby farms. The Cairn Terrier is a small yet fearless dog that is very loyal to and protective of its owners. Bred to hunt, they are possessed of great instincts and big stores of energy. Their size notwithstanding, they are definitely not pampered and delicate lapdogs kept indoors for long stretches of time.

The Pug is a breed originally from China, exclusively for holy personages and the Imperial Family. Another small dog with a big personality, Pug is prized for winning sociability and friendliness, and its occasional antics that can amuse and entertain. The Pug is a great indoor companion that thrives on affection and returning it.
