Goldmaraner

The Goldmaraner is a mix between a purebred Golden Retriever and a purebred Weimaraner. The resulting dog is called hybrid or designer dog as it originates from crossing of two different pure breeds.

The Goldmaraner is large size dog with an average weight around 60 to 80 pounds and can be 27 inches tall when fully mature. These dogs are loving, caring, cheerful and intelligent.. This dog breed has characteristics of both parent breeds and so characteristics may differ from dog to dog. A comparative study of both parent breeds suggest that they are well-mannered with all the family members and gentle and kind to children. Like all dogs, they also need proper early age obedience training and socialization with people and places as well as with other dogs and pets in the family. They can have a strong prey drive like a Weimaraner and should be trained and socialized with small animals from puppyhood to prevent any undesirable behavior.

The Goldmaraner dogs are very intelligent as well as very energetic. They will need lots of physical and mental activities. They can learn fast but can be stubborn at times and would respond to a calm, confident and firm owner.

These dogs can be used in a variety of activities like narcotics detection, hunting, tracking, jogging, competitive obedience and as watch dogs. The Goldmaraner dogs are very good pets for the whole family if they are properly trained from early age.
