Affenpinscher

The Affenpinscher is a smaller version of a working terrier and therefore is not a delicate dog. It originated in Germany in the 16th century, and the Affenpinscher name is derived from the German affe (ape, monkey) and Pinscher (terrier) because of its monkey-like expression. Their strong character and sporting instinct made this breed particularly useful to kill rats and mice in kitchens and on farms. Extremely intelligent and affection with people their naturally scruffy-looks makes them appealing and is often considered the “class clown”. You can also visit the American Kennel Club website for more Affenpinscher dog breed information.
